Light through Culture was a collaboration between the Eindhoven University of Technology and the METU University in Ankara. This collaboration was focused on the cultural diversities between the Netherlands and Turkey. Three multidisciplinary teams created three different light installations based on these cultural differences. Together with my team, I created the light installation called ‘Elele’.
‘Elele’ is about the experience of becoming a group. The installation exists out of a cloth with integrated sensors. When touching the sensors, different lines start drawing on the ceiling of the installation. By combining different sensors and working together, beautiful patterns will appear as a translation of dynamics of the group. The installation will create a feeling of closeness and let you experience the feeling of becoming a group.
